Wonderful place to eat! It's a supersized diner! So many things to choose from. It was packed, so getting service at first was a bit slow. Totally worth it! I like that they have a dedicated person that goes around and does the drinks. The servers walk around in what appears to be circles over and over again, which allows them to get to every table several times. The food was absolutely amazing. I had barbecue, green beans, and sweet potato waffle fries. I got coleslaw, but it tasted pretty bad, so I sent it back. Definitely recommend. Diamond in the rough!

This place is a Mechanicsville gem. Breakfast and brunch. You'll see locals there early as heck for specials. It's got a very townie feel inside the place. The servers are very attentive. Don't hesitant to ask for suggestions! The prices are very reasonable especially if you are an early bird.

This is an inexpensive but satisfying restaurant. I'm getting the roast beef with mushrooms. Side of sweet potato and fried apples. The sweet potato is only available on Sundays. Our server, Jersey, always reminds me of the cinnamon. This time I remembered to ask for the cinnamon. Spouse got his usual. The chopped sirloin with onions. The ambiance is a busy noise filled room.

We had breakfast here on a whim and I can say it did not disappoint. It may look suspicious on the outside, but the restaurant is kind of like a grandmas house feel. There's Knick knacks and what not on the wall and the small wooden tables with meal portions that a grandma would serve up. We had wafflles, an omelet and bacon. I will say it was tasty enough that even a toddler crushed a meal and for those who don't know they are notoriously picky eaters. I will definitely be back again.

My friend Jane knows all the good breakfast places. This place is pretty good, it has all the homey classic breakfast items. Lunch is pretty standard but definitely nothing to turn your nose up at it. It was a mostly an older crowd, mostly considering it was mid morning in a week day. The service was attentive and quick. Really nice ladies. I got my usual breakfast order: veggie omelette; side of corned beef hash; white toast That that omelet was pretty big and the corned beef exactly what was expected (that's a good thing). The salsa was extra like $1.80 but when she gave me a bowl with enough salsa to feed like 5 kids I understood. My friend got the corned beef has platter, ignore hers, she likes her eggs scrambled hard. Only critique is the salmon cake that I ordered was dry and had way way WAY too much filler. Almost to the point I thought it was an accident in the kitchen. I know times are hard out here and you gotta make stuff stretch but come on it's not the great depression. I won't order that particular item again, but I'm definitely coming back. My Grandma would love the salt herring.

If you're looking for a casual, mom & pop style restaurant that has the classic home style cooking, then look no further! Cold Harbor only serves breakfast and lunch, and it's best to get there early because they get busy for the "brunch crowd", especially on the weekends. You'll find a pretty expansive menu, but the food is still simple, classic and delicious! They just have a lot of options to keep everyone happy! Service is always friendly and attentive for the most part considering how busy they usually are, and all of the wait staff help with drink refills as they pass by, which is nice. Don't hesitate to give this place a try if you are in the area!

We've rode past this place a million time & it came by recommendation of someone else. This diner is great! It gives you country diner feels. I mean sausage gravy, corned beef hash things you won't find a chain restaurant. We ordered the salmon cakes, eggs, & shredded hash browns, sausage gravy, pancakes & omelette. The only complaint I had was my hash brown weren't cooked hard enough for me (but that's personal preference). The service was great! I will definitely be revisiting.

Visiting the area, I think it's safe to say we found the town's go-to breakfast restaurant. It's a pretty huge restaurant with three separate dining rooms and it felt like everyone in town was essentially there, a sign of a good thing. A fairly old building with old decor, I can tell this is a staple that's lasted for years. A solid breakfast option for sure with good food. Nothing really spectacular, but all done very well. The Cold Harbor Combo is the classic egg & meat combo but actually with BOTH bacon and sausage (typically you'd have to choose one or the other); very decent price at $10 and you get biscuits and very well seasoned hash browns. The service was great even with a million people, you can tell they have a machine going as far as service process and the bustling of it. What's dope was their buffet option where you just see mounds of eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits etc constantly being replaced with fresh bowls/pans of food. Recommend this staple for sure.
